I'm not sure it's a shift in public opinion so much as just asking the question in the proper way. Both CBS and ABC used "push polls" which asked the questions in such a way as to elicit their desired result. The Opinions Dynamics poll however, asked it in a straight forward unbiased way.
When asked about the "decision to remove" Schiavo's feeding tube, 38 percent of Americans told Opinion Dynamics that they disagreed with the decision, with 42 percent backing the move. A full 20 percent said they were unsure.
In perhaps the most startling finding on the survey, fifty percent of African Americans told Opinion Dynamics that removing Schiavo's feeding tube was "an act of murder."
When all the facts come out on this, don't be surprised to see the polls show a majority against the move. BTW, think brother Jesse may have had a heads up on these numbers?
