The citizen initiated Minuteman Project is underway, and despite the vilification by the MSM, it has the potential of being quite effective. This is a "grass roots" operation in the truest sense of the word. Average Americans protecting their border with neither the anomous or beligerance that the press would have you believe.
More than 400 volunteers arrived at Tombstone, Arizona to take part in the Minuteman Project to patrol the Mexican border for illegal immigrants and smugglers.
The purpose of the project is to highlight the lack of control on the border, which allows many illegal immigrants to cross into the United States undetected. The volunteers have been instructed by the organizers to report any potential illegal immigrants to the proper authorities.

Update:Mexico's Foreign Relations Department said Tuesday that Mexican consulates in Arizona will file criminal complaints against any illegal detentions of its citizens by volunteers of the so-called Minuteman Project.
