Can't you just picture the MSM headline: "Only One Women Currently Holding Ranking Office in Afghani Govt."/Supression of women and minorites continues in beleaguered Afghanistan etc. etc.
Afghanistan has appointed its first female provincial governor in keeping with
the new government's policy of promoting women to positions of power.
The Islamist Taleban government, overthrown by an Afghan-U.S. coalition in 2001,
severely limited women's rights, excluding women from politics, business, and
all but the most rudimentary education.
Wouldn't that make a great story for Good Morning America "Afghani Women, Then and Now. Don't hold your breath.

you remind me of a story I heard Desmund Tutu relaying about Jesus and some sceptics in a boat crossing the river; one's hat blows off and Jesus walks across the water, retrieves it and sits back down in the boat.
When asked what they thought of him, one of the sceptics told the enquirer that Jesus had said much and that he couldn't swim.
