Big Three Woes

I hope President Bush makes his final stand against the ludicrous proposed bailout of the "Big Three" auto makers. Their problem is systemic promarily due to their inability to compete in a world market. Why is this? Simple, the UAW has priced them out of the market...

Total Compensation Per Hour, 2007-2008 (includes wages and all benefits)
Big Three automakers — $73.08
Toyota — $48.00
All workers — $28.48

No amount of taxpayer money will make them competetive unless this fundamental inequity is rectified.
