Romney On Video Rejecting Human Life Amendment In March
Many Mittophiles including people in the upper eschelon of Romney's campaign have been screaming bloody murder over the recent NRLC endorsement of Fred Thompson. They insist that Romney deserved the endorsement and are incredulous over the fact that because Fred does NOT support changing the constitution to outlaw abortion at the federal level, he does not. As it clearly shows in THIS video, these people are the last ones who should be throwing stones.
Q: On the issue of abortion I was wondering do you support just the repeal of Roe v. Wade or do you support a human life amendment? What steps are you prepared to take?

Maria Luisa, the UNLV student who asked Hillary Clinton whether she preferred "diamonds or pearls" at last night's debate wrote on her MySpace page this morning that CNN forced her to ask the frilly question instead of a pre-approved query about the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository. "Every single question asked during the debate by the audience had to be approved by CNN," Luisa writes. "I was asked to submit questions including "lighthearted/fun" questions.
For sure, I thought I would get to ask the Yucca question that was APPROVED by CNN days in advance."
Unfortunately Ms. Luisa the time to expose CNN was during the debate not after.

Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women
Homonym hysteria. Oops sorry, can't say that either.SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.
Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The toe sucker is wrong so often it's hard to put even a little bit of credence in his prognostications. I think he may be right in the first paragraph but his declaration that Romney could never beat Hillary is a stretch.

Student describes how she became a Clinton plantStory Highlights
GRINNELL, Iowa (CNN) -- The college student who was told what question to ask at one of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign events says "voters have the right to know what happened" and she wasn't the only one who was planted.
In an exclusive on-camera interview with CNN, Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff, a 19-year-old sophomore at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, said that giving anyone specific questions to ask is "dishonest," and the whole incident has given her a negative outlook on politics.
Gallo-Chasanoff, whose story was first reported in the campus newspaper, said what happened was really pretty simple: She says a senior Clinton staffer asked if she'd like to ask the senator a question after an energy speech the Democratic presidential hopeful gave in Newton, Iowa, on November 6.
"I sort of thought about it, and I said 'Yeah, can I ask how her energy plan compares to the other candidates' energy plans?'" Gallo-Chasanoff said Monday night.
"'I don't think that's a good idea," the staffer said, according to Gallo-Chasanoff, "because I don't know how familiar she is with their plans."
Clinton's implausible contention that "she knew nothing about" the practice will prove to be the most damaging aspect of these stories and it will be only a matter of time before it becomes obvious that she certainly did know.

Meanwhile, an Arkansas legislator expressed concern that Huckabee used taxpayer funds inappropriately in a plan ultimately designed to assist illegal immigrants in Arkansas.
"Any taxpayer money that is used to help facilitate breaking the law is wrong," Green emphasized.

Nat'l Right to Life to endorse Thompson

Fred Thompson will pick up the support of the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) tomorrow, according to two Republicans familar with the decision.
For a candidate who came up empty-handed last week when three prominent Christian conservatives endorsed GOP hopefuls and is falling in both national and early state polls, the move comes at a critical time.
NRLC is the most prominent anti-abortion group in the country, with affiliates in all 50 states and over 3,000 local chapters.
Whether you're supporting Fred Thompson or not one thing is clear, he has the most cogent and realistic stand on abortion of anyone running.....overturn Roe vs Wade and chip away at the foundations of abortion at the state level. Being for a constitutional amendment banning abortion is all well and good for show but Fred like many of us understands that the liklihood of it ever passing in our lifetime is practically nil.

Kerik Indictment Leaves Questions Unanswered

What, exactly, became of hundreds of thousands of dollars from a city-created foundation, of which Kerik - Rudy Giuliani's friend, protege and appointee - was listed as president in the days when he ran the city jails?
The answer could be explosive. Or it could be innocuous.
The point is that we still do not know.

Optimism grows in Iraq
This from the Beeb? Wow, things must really be going well over there.
Is Iraq getting better? The statistics say so, across the board.
Over the past three months, there has been a sharp and sustained drop in all forms of violence. The figures for dead and wounded, military and civilian, have also greatly improved.
All across Baghdad, which has seen the worst of the violence, streets are springing back to life. Shops and restaurants which closed down are back in business.
People walk in crowded streets in the evening, when just a few months ago they would have been huddled behind locked doors in their homes.

Everybody agrees that things are much better.

BAGHDAD, Nov. 7 — American forces have routed Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, the Iraqi militant network, from every neighborhood of Baghdad, a top American general said today, allowing American troops involved in the “surge” to depart as planned.
Maj. Gen. Joseph F. Fil Jr., commander of United States forces in Baghdad, also said that American troops had yet to clear some 13 percent of the city, including Sadr City and several other areas controlled by Shiite militias. But, he said, “there’s just no question” that violence had declined since a spike in June.
“Murder victims are down 80 percent from where they were at the peak,” and attacks involving improvised bombs are down 70 percent, he said.

Environmental extremists, notable politicians among them, then teamed up with movie, media and other liberal, environmentalist journalists to create this wild "scientific" scenario of the civilization threatening environmental consequences from Global Warming unless we adhere to their radical agenda. Now their ridiculous manipulated science has been accepted as fact and become a cornerstone issue for CNN, CBS, NBC, the Democratic Political Party, the Governor of California, school teachers and, in many cases, well informed but very gullible environmental conscientious citizens.

Pat Robertson Endorses Giuliani

Pat Robertson, one of the most influential figures in the social conservative movement, announced his support for Rudy Giuliani's presidential bid this morning at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
Robertson's support was coveted by several of the leading Republican candidates and provides Giuliani with a major boost as the former New York City mayor seeks to convince social conservatives that, despite his positions on abortion and gay rights, he is an acceptable choice as the GOP nominee.
I've read quite a few opinions on various blogs as to why Robertson endorsed Rootie. Most of them are wrong. It's simple really. The lions share of Guiliani's support is coming from well meaning conservatives who believe that he is the only one in the field that can beat Hillary. They are so scared of another Clinton in the White House that they would vote for the devil incarnate if it means keeping the beast in the Senate.
I thought Thompson might change that but thusfar he has failed to close the deal as has Romney, McCain and the rest. In this misguided perception, many Republicans like Robertson will allow their core principles to be overridden by their fear and vote to nominate a seriously flawed candidate. This won't work, it never has it never will.

Police Warn About New Drug Made from Raw Sewage
"I never smoked no sh!t like that before".A very dangerous and somewhat new drug is causing police to send a warning to local parents. Investigators say kids are getting high off a drug called Jenkem. The drug, made from fermented feces and urine, hasn't been found in our area yet, but police think it could be here soon.
Multimedia Watch The Video Police say Jenkem is a fad they're hearing about from other law enforcement agencies. It starts as an attempt to get high.
