Immigration activist who left Chicago sanctuary arrested

Arrested is one thing, deported another. My guess is it will take months if it ever happens at all.

BTW Headline correction... [Illegal] Immigration activist who left Chicago arrested.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - An illegal immigrant who sought sanctuary in a Chicago church to avoid deportation has been arrested in Los Angeles.

That word came this evening from the pastor of the Adalberto United Methodist Church in Chicago where Elvira Arellano (el-VEE'-ruh ah-ray-AH'-noh) had sought sanctuary.

The Reverend Walter Coleman says he was with Arellano when she was detained this afternoon. But he says he couldn't immediately provide other details.

Arellano left the church for the first time in a year to campaign for immigration reform in Los Angeles this weekend.

Expect a screeching Geraldo to be on a TV screen near you.

Update: Well color me surprised!
