DURHAM) - Despite recent calls for his resignation, Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong tells Eyewitness News Reporter Tamara Gibbs he has no plans to step down.
After the Duke Lacrosse case was dismissed, some politicians and legal experts called for Nifong's resignation, suggesting his upcoming ethics trial could effect his performance as DA.
A Durham citizen has filed a formal complaint suggesting Nifong should be removed from office. Nifong's attorney David Freedman tells Eyewitness News his client is focused on his upcoming ethics trial that begins June 12.
