This massive attempt at revamping the entire Health Care System in this country is a monumental canard. Is has nothing to do with humanitarian concerns and everything to do with increasing governmental power and expanding dependancy.
There are just three basic legislative measures that could be enacted that would vastly improve both coverage and affordability.
1. Allow for National(Interstate)competition in Health Insurance coverage. Any person in any state should be able to obtain health insurance from any company in any state. If we have to suffer the Commerce clause, let it work for the benefit of the people for a change. If a person moves from one state to another, their coverage would be fully transferrable.
2. Significant and substantial Tort reform.
3. Subsidize coverage for the ~11 million unisured (NOT 45 million) that truly desire insurance but are unable to afford it.
It's not rocket science folks.
