Just for a bit of context, this is 1 point higher than the percentage of the vote Bill Clinton got in 1992.
Forty-four percent (44%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty-four percent (54%) disapprove. Those are the best numbers for the President in months and it remains to be seen whether today’s update reflects lasting change or merely statistical noise.
The Rasmussen Reports daily updates are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. The overwhelming majority of interviews for today’s update were completed before President Bush’s address to the nation last night.
Remember this is based on "all" adults. You can add another 5 points to this figure when talking about "likely voters".
Update: Correction, make that 47%.
Forty-seven percent (47%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove. Those are by far the best numbers for the President since mid-February.
Notice how scarce the PA polling has been from the MM lately? Now you know why.
