Recall effort against Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio fails

The good guys win again...
Despite a recent court ruling that the department run by Maricopa County’s top cop used racial profiling in his quest to crack down on illegal immigration, a recall effort against Sheriff Joe Arpaio has failed.
On Thursday, members of Respect Arizona and Citizens for a Better Arizona -- who launched the recall effort against Arpaio -- failed to gather the necessary 335,000 valid voter signatures by the 5 p.m. deadline. The aim was to force a recall election.

MadCows's Ratings in the Crapper

You know you're in trouble when you're envious of Piers Morgan's ratings.
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s May ratings were her worst monthly showing since The Rachel Maddow Show debuted in 2008, and the liberal network suffered double-digit drops overall in primetime viewership (20 percent) and the 25-54 demographic (19 percent) from last May, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Partly to blame for Maddow’s drop are the continuing woes of All In with Chris Hayes, which began in April to replace Ed Schultz and has been a ratings flop. Maddow even finished behind perennially struggling Piers Morgan.

The soft start for All In With Chris Hayes has not helped. Hayes, down 32 percent in total viewers from The Ed Show last May, has offered a poor lead-in for MSNBC’s primetime flagship The Rachel Maddow Show at 9 p.m.. The show delivered its lowest-rated month since it debuted in Sept. 2008 (717,000 total viewers) and its second-lowest with adults 25-54 (210,000). Maddow was topped by typical time slot victor Sean Hannity and, in a rare feat, CNN’s Piers Morgan.

300 BOY SCOUT FAMILIES LOSE SPONSOR, KENTUCKY MEGA-CHURCH BACKS OUT OF BOY SCOUT PROGRAM IN RESPONSE TO GAY TROOP CONTROVERSY

Expect more of this, a lot more. This is the beginning of the end for Scouting.
Actions have consequences. In this case, the Boy Scout organization’s decision to even debate acceptance of open homosexuality has provoked Southeast Christian Church, a church of 30,000, to pull its charter of Troop 212.
Southeast Christian Church did not pull its sponsorship and involvement over the recent vote by the Boy Scouts to allow openly homosexual youth to participate. The Church pulled its sponsorship over the Boy Scouts organization’s act of debating the idea of allowing open homosexuality. This is confirmed by the fact the Church actually notified the Boy Scouts earlier in the year before the vote took place.

The Dots Already Lead To Obama In The IRS Scandal

Just follow the rabbit turds...
Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president.
Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails.

If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

But as the Wall Street Journal's Kimberly Strassel reminds us, Obama's 2008 campaign was demanding the Justice Department criminally prosecute conservative groups with 501(c)4 tax-exempt status. Then, last year, President Obama's re-election campaign "targeted private citizens who had donated to Romney groups."

Red States Beat Blue States On Jobs, Growth

Go figure.
Texas outperformed every other state in the nation on jobs and growth over the past decade, according to the latest annual report on state economic performance released Thursday by the American Legislative Exchange Council. Michigan came in dead last.
The rankings are based on state GDP growth, population shifts, and changes in non-farm payroll jobs between 2001 and 2011.

The ALEC report also finds that Utah has the best economic outlook this year, and Vermont the worst.

Darrell Issa: Lois Lerner lost her rights

Get the popcorn!
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again.
The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service.

“When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Lerner triggered the IRS scandal on May 10 when she acknowledged that the agency wrongly targeted conservative groups applying for a tax exemption. Her lawyer told the House committee earlier this week that she would exercise her Fifth Amendment.

Obama Aids Panicked Over Scandals

The whispered about fourth shoe?
USBC News Wire- According to a post via Twitter by a Columnist with the Washington Times, aides in the scandal-ridden Obama administration are “terrified” by information being closely guarded by the White House.
Joseph Curl says that a CIA source has told him that the increasingly withdrawn Obama Administration’s most recent scandal, involving the monitoring of Fox News reporter James Rosen’s email account, “goes much deeper.” He goes on to say, in future posts, that “only a few in WH know that ‘something’ — ‘It’s been deep sixed, like Osama bin Laden.’”
Mr. Curl’s ominous revelations via twitter, are seen by many as a confirmation that recent scandals are the result of a more institutionalized culture of corruption brought from Chicago’s famously corrupt political scene by Barack Obama when he moved to the White House.

Breaking - Report: DOJ Leaked Docs to Smear Fast & Furious Whistleblower, Says IG

Oh what a tangled web we weave...
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General published a new report Monday that confirms former U.S. Attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke leaked a document intended to smear Operation Fast and Furious scandal whistleblower John Dodson.
The DOJ IG said it found “Burke’s conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney.”

“We are referring to OPR our finding that Burke violated Department policy in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to a member of the media for a determination of whether Burke’s conduct violated the Rules of Professional Conduct for the state bars in which Burke is a member,” the IG wrote.

HE KNEW!

Talk about a rabbit hole...
WASHINGTON — The Treasury Department’s inspector general told senior Treasury officials in June 2012 he was auditing the Internal Revenue Service’s screening of politically active organizations seeking tax exemptions, disclosing for the first time on Friday that Obama administration officials were aware of the matter during the presidential campaign year. At the first Congressional hearing into the I.R.S. scandal, J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration, told members of the House Ways and Means Committee that he informed the Treasury’s general counsel of his audit on June 4, and Deputy Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin “shortly thereafter.”

Democrat Baucus warns: More to come out on IRS scandal

We have only scratched the surface, bet on it.
Senior Democratic Sen. Max Baucus, who recently slapped Obamacare as a "train wreck," believes that the IRS scandal is just beginning and that "a lot more" damaging information will be revealed, likely at congressional hearings. "I have a hunch that a lot more is going to come out, frankly," Baucus, whose pending retirement seems to have freed him up to speak bluntly, told Bloomberg Government's " Capitol Gains " TV show.
"It's broader than the current focus. And I think it's important that we have the hearings, and I think that will encourage other information to come out that has not yet come out. I suspect that we will learn more in the next several days, maybe the next couple three weeks which adds more context to all of this," added Baucus, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.

Tragic Trifecta: Initial Claims Soar, Housing Starts Plunge, CPI Below Expectations

Think this is bad, wait till Obamacare kicks in.
We didn't really need a confirmation that the economy was deteriorating and completely disconnected from the "market", but we got it nonetheless. First, Initial Claims coming at 360K, on expectations of 330K, the worst print and worst miss in six weeks, confirming that weekly data is largely noise and that there is no sustainable downward trend. The May 11 weekly print adjusted and unadjusted were 360K and 318K respectively, virtually unchanged from a year ago at 373K and 325K, showing that in one year there has been essentially no progress, and that weekly initial claims of 350K is the new normal.
Of course, the last week's print was also revised higher from 323K to 328K, while initial claims also missed expectations of a round 3MM print, instead printing at 3009K.

3 attacked at gas station on Mother's Day for 'being in the wrong neighborhood'

Where's the national news coverage, where's the hate crime indictment, where's the beating of the breasts by the MSM lamenting what a racist society we are???
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) - Three people, including a teenager, were sent to the hospital on Mother's Day after they were attacked at a local gas station.
Officials say the incident was unprovoked and do not believe it was a robbery attempt. Officials say a family - a 36-year-old male, a 41-year-old female and a 14-year-old female - stopped at a gas station located at the intersection of Scenic and Plank at roughly 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. As the man was waiting in line to pay for his gas, he was approached by the suspect.

Investigators with the Baton Rouge Police Department say the suspect, Donald Ray Dickerson, 41, walked up to the man and said "you're in the wrong neighborhood and you're not going to make it out." Dickerson then began to punch the victim in the face.

IRS Warned Employees Not to Target 501(c)4 Donors in 2011

This was one of the articles of impeachment leveled against Nixon.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) admitted on May 10 that “low level” staff in its Cincinnati office, supposedly “not motivated by political bias,” targeted 75 conservative tax-exempt organizations, including many Tea Party organizations applying for exemption under Section 501(c)4 of the tax code. The groups were singled out for audit and investigation because they used the names “Tea Party” and “Patriot.” Yet in July 2011, the IRS had warned employees to drop audits of donors to similar 501(c)4 organizations.
A hand-signed memorandum from Steven T. Miller, IRS Acting Commissioner for Services and Enforcement, was issued on July 7, 2011 and instructed employees to cease examinations dealing with gift taxes to 501(c)4 organizations because of difficult "legal, administrative, and policy implications" that could only be resolved "after notice to the public."

Playing politics with tax records

This combined with Benghazi, the corrupt wheels are beginning to fall off the Obama bus.
A BEDROCK principle of U.S. democracy is that the coercive powers of government are never used for partisan purpose. The law is blind to political viewpoint, and so are its enforcers, most especially the FBI and the Internal Revenue Service. Any violation of this principle threatens the trust and the voluntary cooperation of citizens upon which this democracy depends.
So it was appalling to learn Friday that the IRS had improperly targeted conservative groups for scrutiny. It was almost as disturbing that President Obama and Treasury Secretary Jack Lew have not personally apologized to the American people and promised a full investigation.

“Mistakes were made,” the agency said in a statement. IRS official Lois Lerner explained that staffers used a “shortcut” to sort through a large number of applications from groups seeking tax-exempt status, highlighting organizations with “tea party” or “patriot” in their names. The IRS insisted emphatically that partisanship had nothing to do with it. However, it seems that groups with “progressive” in their titles did not receive the same scrutiny.

Ariel Castro, Cleveland Kidnapper, Is a Registered Democrat

Not a card carrying Tea Party Republican....go figure.
According to voter registration records, Ariel Castro, the Cleveland kidnapper, is a registered Democrat. He was also the alleged leader among the three Castro brothers, who were arrested this week, and the owner of the house at 2207 Seymour Ave., where the three abducted local women had been kept in captivity for over a decade. Why is this important? Whenever a crime or a scandal captures national attention, the pattern in the mainstream media is to either identify the culprit as a Republican or hold silence -- in which case we can rest assured that the culprit is a Democrat. When the identity or the party affiliation is yet unknown, the pattern is to speculate publicly about the possibility of the criminal being a conservative, Christian, white, Republican, and a Tea Party member -- and never that he could be a Hispanic Democrat voter playing bass in a meringue band.

Source: Only President Could Have Made 'Stand Down' Call On Benghazi

Of course it was the Commander in Chief, it can be no other way.
A source with intimate information about the events that happened on the ground in Benghazi the night the U.S. Consulate and the CIA annex was attacked by terrorists told Breitbart News that, ultimately, only the President of the United States, or someone acting on his authority, could have prevented Special Forces either on the ground or nearby from helping those Americans who were under deadly assault.
According to the source, when the attack on the Consulate occurred, a specific chain of command to gain verbal permission to move special-forces in must have occurred. SOCAFRICA commander Lieutenant Col. Gibson would have contacted a desk officer at the time, asking for that permission.

Housing nominee Mel Watt helped create the subprime crisis

Why is it that Obama seems to always nominate the worst possible candidate? Must be ideology and color trump all.
Mel Watt, President Obama’s nominee for director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, pushed government programs to help welfare recipients buy homes during the creation of the subprime mortgage bubble.
Watt, a 20-year Member of Congress from North Carolina’s 12th district, also had a hand in programs allowing borrowers with poor credit to buy homes with no down payment. The American financial system was subsequently destroyed when millions of bad borrowers defaulted on their loans, setting off a market crash that wiped out nearly 40 percent of the net worth of Americans.

In 2002, Watt teamed up with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, Bank of America, BB&T, and UJAMMA Inc., to announce Pathways to Homeownership, a pilot initiative designed to give home loans to welfare recipients.

Suicide rate quadrupled under Obama Presidency

So much for the "Hope" segment of "Hope and Change".
More Americans now die of suicide than from car accidents, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a disturbing statistic that some experts say points to the true depths of the US economic crisis.
In a letter to The Lancet medical journal, scientists from Britain, Hong Kong and United States said an analysis of data from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicated that while suicide rates increased slowly between 1999 and 2007, the rate of increase has more than quadrupled since President Obama was elected to the Presidency in 2008, Reuters reports.

Citing the nation’s severe economic recession as having a direct connection to the rise of suicides, Aaron Reeves of Britain’s University of Cambridge, warned that politicians are partially to blame. “The increase does coincide with a decrease in financial standing for a lot of families over the same time period.”

Letter to the NRA

Just to make you aware if you aren't already. The state of Illinois requres a citizen of the state to obtain a FOID (Firearms Owners Identification card).

The law as written requires the state to issue or decline for cause a card within 30 days of the $10.00 card fee being cashed. It has been 3 months and I still don't have a card. Many others have experienced the same long waits. Their excuse is that they're "overwhelmed" with requests.

This is depriving law abiding citizens in Illinois their 2nd ammendment right to legally purchase and own a firearm. I don't know if it's a stealth maneuver to deny persons their constitutional rights or just imcompetence but the state is breaking it's own law.

If the office issuing the cards is understaffed it's incumbent on them to provide the funds to increase staffing to a level that insures they cease breaking the law.

Being that the NRA has been instrumental in guaranteeing 2nd ammendment rights for decades, I would reason that this would be something they would certainly want to address.

We'll see what they have to say.

DEMOCRATS: GLOBAL WARMING WILL FORCE WOMEN INTO PROSTITUTION

Who comes up with this stuff???
A number House Democrats have written a resolution calling on Congress to recognize that climate change will hurt the plight of women more than men; driving women into “transactional sex” for survival — among other horrible fates.
Now, nothing causes more transactional sex than poverty, and few conditions bring more poverty to women around the world than limiting capitalism and free trade. One wonders if a poor woman in say, Bangladesh, would be happier and healthier with a car, an air conditioner and processed food rather than that light carbon footprint they now carry? I wish they had a choice.
The thought of Nancy Pelosi, Wasserman Shultz or Sheila Jackson Lee hooking is enough to make you hurl.
